Medical Assistance – Patient Advocate Services
We understand that seeking medical services in a foreign country can be a daunting experience. You most likely do not speak proficient Hungarian to navigate through the health care system, and even further, you may be unfamiliar with the local culture and customs.
The way the system works in Hungary may be completely different what you are used to at home. And beyond these difficulties, at the same time you are also coping with an illness or medical issue. We suggest that you do not try to attempt to fight this challenge on your own, or to get help from a friend alone, even if you have a Hungarian speaking translator on your side.
Get professional assistance from Health Guard Hungary! Let our doctors and staff assist and guide you! You will not be left alone in the midst of this confusing and unfamiliar environment. We can bridge the language and cultural barriers that often arise.
Our physician will drive, accompany and guide you throughout local health care institutions. We will follow you throughout the medical process, and act as a liaison between you and the doctors, nurses and hospital staff. Our physician will keep close contact with the treating physicians, and will act as an advocate on your behalf.
Not only are we translating what the hospital doctors say, but we help to communicate and interpret the relevant information to provide better understanding for you.
By sharing with you our in depth knowledge and experience with the local health care system, we will help you to be better informed about your situation and care, while ensuring you maintain sovereignty over your decisions. Whatever special needs you have, we will advise you as to whether it would be a reasonable goal to tend to do them in the Hungarian health care system. Please remember that we will work hard to ensure that the necessary steps and arrangements are taken so the best available evaluation and treatment in Hungary will be provided to you and your family.
In the rare case with a patient in an institution outside of our network, or when a Third Party Payer already have a designated medical service provider (e.g. doctor, clinic, hospital out of our network), we may then offer you our Medical Assistance Services. As part of our comprehensive management we will keep a close eye on the evaluation and management of the patient, make sure that only necessary procedures are performed, and oversee the institution does not charge beyond what is reasonable and customary. We can report about the patient’s case progress continuously and organize Guarantee of Payment on your behalf. When a patient’s medical condition cannot be properly taken care of in an institution locally, we will assist to arrange the transport or evacuation.
For such cases our “Assistance Services Price List” below will be applied, without medical service fees.
